LIBERAL Key Thinkers: Independent Research Project
You will be assigned a key conservative thinker. You will need to research this individual, and then peer teach the class. You will lead a 30 minute seminar on your key thinker.
*A seminar is a class at university in which a topic is discussed by a teacher and a small group of students
In preparation for your seminar you should create;
- a powerpoint
- a detailed hand-out/mind map
- an activity
For your assigned thinker you need to include the following:
- Background
(school, university, profession) - Famous published works
- Key Ideas
(linked to core principles)- Individualism
- freedom/liberty
- State
- Rationalism
- Equality/social justice
- Liberal democracy
- How does your key thinker view the following?
- Human nature
- The state
- Society
- Economy
- How have they contributed to the evolution of liberalism?
