Rosemary Ruether is a radical feminist theologian who has tried to stay within the Christian church whist disagreeing fundamentally with patriarchal interpretations which arise from the Bible and Church history. By rediscovering the prophetic/liberating tradition of the Old Testament (and the life of a functionally genderless Christ) a new theology can form which ends hierarchy and the dualisms which are so beloved of patriarchy.
