Stephen Loxton
October 9, 2012
Stephen Loxton teaches Philosophy and Ethics at Sherborne Girls' School. He studied at Sussex and Hull universities and did research for an MPhil. He has taught in a range of schools in the Midlands, Somerset, Herts, and was for some twenty years at The Godolphin School where he introduced and taught A level Philosophy. Currently enjoying teaching A2 New Testament as well as AS/A2 Ethics and AS (and sometimes A2) Philosophy of Religion. Pet hate is the topic-based approach that pervades the subject which leads many writers of text books to skim over things, and discourages students from reading in more depth. Perhaps a cycle of set texts for the course would make it a lot better!? Interests include Cricket, Music and avoiding shopping.
