The Queen (Final scene) When duty and feeling conflict: do we do the right thing?

In the final scene of the film the Queen reflects on her motives in staying at Balmoral after Princess Diana’s death, and so incurring the wrath of the British public who saw her as unfeeling. What does this film suggest about this Kantian dualism of reason versus feeling? Is it an adequate view of human nature?
