Film: clips – Kant
by

These are some film clips I have found useful in raising issues around Kant’s view of ethics. Please email any further suggestions to the editor: also extracts from novels are most welcome and can be uploaded onto the site. Some of these films are relevant to other sections of the course: for example, Nuremberg can be used as a case study on natural rights and “crimes against humanity”; Chocolat is relevant to Christian ethics (Vianne is a Christ figure similar to the Jesus of Mark’s gospel) or virtue ethics. The issues related to each film are posed as a question, and the scene number is given in brackets after the title.
