Hi! Welcome to the adventure of Philosophy and Ethics.
About me
I have been teaching Ethics since 2006 and Economics since 1982. I have a degree in Politics, Philosophy and Economics from New College,Oxford, and a research degree in Hermeneutics from Newcastle University which represent two important areas of interest for me: philosophy and theology. I am also interested in the links between philosophy and economics, so if there’s anyone out there who shares this interest please do get in touch.
My vision
The vision for this site is to produce interactive materials which make philosophy and ethics come alive. For this reason I want to include more and more games, case studies and simulations as well as suggestions for film and documentary clips.
This year I have stepped out of full time teaching in order to get on the road and meet more of you! If you would like a visit do let me know and I will try and fit you in – I am very happy to do a session on any area of ethics in return for a standard fee of £300 for a half day or £500 a full day plus travel expenses! Or lead a debate/discussion/do a talk or assembly. Just let me know what you’d like!
What’s it all about?
I think philosophy is about reading culture critically to see the source of values and also to engage in discussion about what those values should be. I am now much freer to engage with you so do contact me directly.
Best wishes for 2017-18 academic year – I will be publishing much more material in ebook and ibook form as well as hard copy and our series of revision guides, model essays and coursebooks will be completed by April 2018 – to be bundled up at a big discount. Please got to our shop to find out more.
